After losing the defamation trial against Johnny Depp, Amber Heard finally appeared for her first interview, after the trial with Savannah Guthrie from the Today show of NBC News.

In the interview, Heard opened up about her reaction to the verdict. She mentioned that she did not blame the jury for their decision. Heard also talked about the importance of free speech during her interview.

As the interview continued, Heard opened up about her fear there may be more defamation lawsuits in the future coming from her ex-husband Johnny Depp. In 2019, the star of Pirates of the Caribbean sued Amber Heard for defamation, with respect to her 2018 Washington Post op-ed, where Heard referred to herself as a domestic violence survivor. Speaking about her recent loss at the trial, she said, "I took for granted what I assumed was my right to speak."

"I'm scared that no matter what I do, no matter what I say or how I say it, every step that I take will present another opportunity for the sort of silencing—which is what a defamation lawsuit is meant to do; it's meant to take your voice", said Heard.

In another part of her interview, the actress also stated that she was speaking the truth. Moreover, she stands by every word she said in her testimony at court. Heard also shared that she plans to appeal the jury's decision.
