Shakira officially announces split with Pique

After 11 years together, Shakira and Gerard Piqué, Barcelona star, have split up following rumours of the football star cheating on the critically acclaimed singer.

The statement was put out by Shakira's agency, which stated: "We regret to confirm that we are parting ways. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding."

Shakira and Pique had been together since 2010, and have two sons together.
