Renowned choreographer Masum Babul no more

Renowned choreographer Masum Babul, who has choreographed over 1,500 dance performances over his career, is no more. 

The 65 year old artiste breathed his last today (Monday) around 5:45 pm. The news was confirmed to The Daily Star by the General Secretary of Bangladesh Film Artiste's Association, Nipun Akter.

Speaking to The Daily Star, Nipun Akter stated, "Just a few days ago, he was discharged from the hospital and returned home. Today, in the afternoon, he left us all forever. He will be buried in Azimpur Graveyard soon."

Masum Babul has been battling with cancer for the last one and a half years of his life.  

Over the course of his career in the film industry, the artiste had choreographed numerous dance performances for films, and even received the National Film Award on three occasions, for his excellent choreography.
