Nusraat Faria to host Sunsilk-Channel i Music Awards this year

The highly anticipated 18th edition of the "Channel i Music Awards" is going to take place today at the Sheraton Hotel in the capital's Banani. The event, which honours music luminaries, will be hosted by the popular actress Nusraat Faria.

Impress Telefilm Limited Senior General Manager Shahidul Alam Sachchu confirmed the development to the media.

With a mission to promote "Excellence in Healthy Music," the music event, which commenced in 2004, is being sponsored by Sunsilk.

During a press conference held by Channel i on October 10, detailed information about this year's event was unveiled. It was announced that the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award would be bestowed upon the distinguished music artiste Sujeo Shyam, a recipient of the Ekushey Padak and the National Award.

The event will see a total of 22 awards distributed across various categories, including Best Artiste, Best Composer, Best Lyricist under the contemporary song category; Best Band, Best Sound Engineer, Best Dual Music Artiste, Best Folk Music Artiste; Best Artiste, Best Composer, Best Lyricist under the film soundtrack category; Best Music Video Director, Best Music Video Artiste, Best Emerging Artiste, Best Instrumentalist (Classical), Best Vocalist (Classical), Best Artiste, Best Composer, and Best Lyricist under the subject-based Song category, Best Audio Company, amongst others.
