Jimin becomes first South Korean soloist to top US songs chart

BTS' Jimin has made history by becoming the first South Korean solo artist to reach the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 yesterday.

"Like Crazy" debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 this week, dethroning Miley Cyrus's "Flowers," which had occupied the top spot for eight weeks.

His album "FACE" debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's main albums list, making it the highest-charting album by a South Korean solo performer and surpassing fellow BTS member RM's "Indigo", which peaked at No. 3 in December, according to Billboard.

Jimin's "FACE" is currently available for streaming globally and includes five songs: "Set Me Free Pt. 2,", "Like Crazy", "Face-off", "Interlude: Dive", and "Alone".

BTS is regarded as South Korea's largest cultural phenomenon ever, selling out stadiums around the world, topping the charts, generating billions of dollars for the country's economy, and developing a global legion of fans known as ARMYs.
