Fakir Alamgir suffers from heart attack

Ekushey Padak winning artiste Fakir Alamgir suffered from a heart attack at 10 pm today, while he was in ventilation at the Covid unit of the capital's United Hospital.

His son, Mashuque Alamgir Rajeeb, confirmed the news to The Daily Star.

Even though he was reportedly doing better according to a statement made by Mashuque earlier today, his lungs were still fiercely fighting the Covid infections.

"D-dimer is increasing at an alarming rate in his body", said Mashuque. "Infection has been found in his blood as well."

The doctors are currently monitoring the legendary singer's condition.

Fakir Alamgir was admitted to the Covid unit of United Hospital on July 15, after his condition deteriorated. He was then shifted to the ICU of the unit.
