Chirkutt's Sumi to share her musical journey in Norway's University of Agder

Renowned musician Sharmin Sultana Sumi has been invited to participate in an international music conference to be held at the University of Agder, Kristiansand Campus in Norway.

As the frontperson of the popular band Chirkutt, she will join various music experts from around the world at the ten-day event. Sumi is scheduled to give presentations during three sessions, deliver speeches, and engage in discussions with students at the University of Agder in Kristiansand, Norway. Her invitation came from Professor Daniel Nordgård.

In addition to her musical journey, Sumi will also highlight her experiences in the entertainment industry as a woman. Sumi expressed her excitement, saying, "It is a great opportunity to share my personal experiences and journey on an international platform. At the same time, I am not only honoured, but this new experience also brings joy and pride to our country."

Sumi will also discuss the "Nodi Rocks" project and her role as an artist in addressing the negative effects of climate change.

Previously, Sumi has participated in various music-related conferences in India, Sri Lanka, Norway, and Portugal, in addition to organising concerts worldwide with her band Chirkutt.

As part of this prestigious event, Sumi will present her plan on "Strategy and Sustainability in the Music Business" during the Scientific Conference on November 3.

On November 7-8, she will speak in the session "Role of Women in the Music Industry," and the event will conclude with the session "Music and Climate Care," which will take place on November 9-10 with the participation of students.

Furthermore, Sumi will also take part in another session at the invitation of Dr Sulvi Korhonen at the University of South East Norway, where she will discuss her projects, Nodi Rocks and Climate Care, with members of the Nordic Cultural Point, emphasising awareness and initiatives related to climate change.

Starting from October 30, Sumi will commence her journey by flying to Denmark. Following the conclusion of the conference in Norway, she will participate in several meetings in Finland to address climate change issues.

The musician will return to Dhaka on November 16 and will partake in a new concert. Before her departure, she will perform in two concerts with her band, one on October 25 in Rajshahi and the other on October 26 at the Army Stadium.
