Elderly man hit by train in Dhaka's Karwan Bazar dies

An elderly man died after being hit by a train in Dhaka's Karwan Bazar area this morning.

The identity of the deceased, aged around 60, could not be known immediately.

The man was hit by a train around 7am, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 8:30am, said Sanumong Marma, an assistant sub-inspector of Dhaka Railway Police Station.

The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
