Lamia’s request to PM meets a satisfactory end

According to a recent report by this daily, a fifth grader named Lamia Akter, from the Dakkhin Gazipur Government Primary School in Pirojpur Sadar upazila, wrote to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina last year requesting for a new school building to replace the existing one, which was established in 1975 and is now in a dire state. In the letter, Lamia had mentioned the precarious condition in which some 128 children were putting their lives at risk while attending classes.

I am immensely delighted that the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education took her words into consideration and, upon inspection, decided to construct a new building. This is refreshing news indeed. Such proactive measures in our education sector will help the future generation tackle the problems of the modern world.
