Dr Mirza Nazim Uddin of Square Hospital dies with Covid-19

Dr Mirza Nazim Uddin, a senior consultant (medicine) at Square Hospital in Dhaka, died with Covid-19 while undergoing treatment at the hospital today.

He was 67.

Dr Rahat Anwar Chowdhury, joint secretary of the Foundation for Doctors' Safety Rights and Responsibilities (FDSR), confirmed the information to The Daily Star.

"Dr Nazim was on ventilator support at Square Hospital. He passed away this noon," Dr Rahat said.

Dr Nazim is an alumnus of Dhaka Medical College. He has also been working as Square Hospital's director of ICU apart from being a senior consultant (medicine) at the hospital.

Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin and Dr Md Ihteshamul Haque Chowdhury, president and secretary general of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) respectively, expressed condolences at the death of Dr Nazim.

He left behind his wife and three children to mourn his demise.
