Don't we deserve better from police?

Don't we deserve better from police?

Two days ago, a group of young men, aged around 20, suddenly started banging around our home at Mirpur with drums, sticks, whistles and other local instruments without any apparent reason. All our neighbours and my family members got very annoyed. I thought it wouldn't be wise to go to them alone to tell them to stop, so I called the Dhaka Metropolitan Police. But they didn't even take my address and hung up saying, “We will watch the matter.” Then I called the Mirpur police, they said, "Sorry, it's not our area. We can't do anything. Call Pallabi police station." So I called the Pallabi police station and told them the whole thing again. Their reply was: "It is better to keep quiet for awhile until they stop doing it. Because it is a matter of a particular group and if we go to stop them, we might get into a big collision and problems might arise.”

Don't the public deserve better from police? I am an A-level candidate. Should I let go of my studies and enjoy the show!
