Shahidul Islam, father-in-law of slain Narayanganj city panel mayor Nazrul Islam, today called for not putting Nur Hossain, prime accused of the sensation seven-murder, on “crossfire”.

Speaking to journalists at his house in Narayanganj, he expressed his apprehension that “Attempts may be taken to kill Nur Hossain in crossfire to hide the facts.”

Shahidul also said, “The culprits will remain out of reach if Nur Hossain is put on crossfire. But we want to know the truth and trial of the killers,” reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

Nazrul and his four aides, senior lawyer Chandan Sarker and his driver were abducted almost at the same time after they left the court area by two cars in Narayanganj.

Six bodies, including that of Nazrul and Chandan, were found floating in the Shitalakkhya river three days later, and another was found the following day.
