DMP to restrict citizen movement on 31st

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will enforce restrictions on the movements of citizens in the capital after 8:00pm on December 31 to avoid any untoward incident.
In a press release today, the law enforcement agency asked residents of Gulshan, Banani, Baridhara and Dhaka University areas to return home before 8:00pm.
It also marked the Hatirjheel area as off-limits after 8:00pm, and prohibited public gathering and programmes on streets, flyovers and open places.
The restrictions will be enforced for the sake of maintaining ‘law and order’ in the capital, the press release said.
The DMP also requested people to cooperate with law enforcers to celebrate the New Year without any hassle.
