DMC wins SK+F debate contest in Ctg

Debaters of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) became the champion, beating the team of Chittagong Medical College (CMC)-2 in the “SK+F 3rd National NDF BD-CMC DC Medical College Debate Festival-2014” held on the CMC campus yesterday.
A total of 14 teams from 10 government and private medical colleges participated in the two-day debate festival, sponsored by Eskayef Bangladesh Ltd.
Jointly organised by National Debate Federation Bangladesh (NDF BD), Chittagong Medical College Students Union and Chittagong Medical College Debating Club (CMC DC), the competition was inaugurated on Friday in Shah Alam Bir Uttam Auditorium of CMC.
The festival also included a quiz competition where 22 teams from 12 medical colleges participated. The team of Tahsin Manjur Tushin and Rawshan Dayemi of CMC clinched the first position while another team of CMC having Izaz Miah and Raihan won the second and Samanta Rahman and Masabah Tasfin of Comilla Medical College secured the third place.
Dr Selim Muhammad Jahangir, principal of CMC, was present as the chief guest while AKM Shoaib, chairman of NDF BD, was in the chair. Ashish Saikat, managing editor of the daily Ittefaq; AB Siddique, assistant general manager (sales) of Eskayef Bangladesh Ltd; and Monir Hossain, regional sales manager (Chittagong) of Akij Food & Beverage Ltd, also spoke at the event.
