Dhaka-Ctg-Sylhet rail link restored after 5hrs

In this Star file photo shows the wheels of a compartment of a Chittagong-bound train from Sylhet derailed in Comilla halting train service on Dhaka-Chittagong and Dhaka-Sylhet routes.

Rail communication of Chittagong with Dhaka and Sylhet was restored this morning after five hours of disruption following a train derailment near Feni Railway Station early today.

Three wagons of a Bogra-bound freight train veered off the tracks at Sadarpur area around 4:00am halting the train communication on the routes, said Habibur Rahman, stationmaster of Feni Railway Station.

Train service resumed around 9:00am after a rescue train salvaged the derailed wagons, reports our Feni correspondent.

No casualties were reported, the sources said.
