Bangladesh has strongly condemned the Israeli aggression and called for an immediate cessation of its atrocities on civilians in Gaza.

“Bangladesh is deeply shocked at the recent Israeli atrocities and violence perpetrated in Gaza, in particular, air strikes, resulting in tragic loss of civilian lives and heavy damage to property and posing renewed threat to regional peace and stability,” the foreign ministry said in a statement today.

It said Bangladesh maintains its principled position on a comprehensive solution of the Palestinian question in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions, the Arab Peace Plan and the Road Map.

“Bangladesh calls upon all parties to exercise maximum restraint to avoid further loss of lives and resume dialogue to revive the peace process at the earliest towards a two-State solution,” it added.

Bangladesh firmly believes that the occupation of Palestinian land must come to an end, and the Palestinian people must have their own independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, the statement said.
