14 complaints received, resolved instantly: DNCC returning officer

Returning Officer of Dhaka North City Corporation Abul Quasem today said he received 14 complaints of different irregularities from the candidates of the city corporation elections within the first two and a half hours after the voting began and resolved those issues immediately.

“I received the complaints from BNP candidates of Badda, Kurmitola and Mirpur over phone,” the returning officer said during a press briefing at IES School and College polling centre in Uttara Sector-5 in the morning.

“We resolved the issues and confirmed with the candidates,” he said.

After visiting the school around 10:30am, the returning officer said presence of voters was thin at the centre. 

Voting in Dhaka North and South City Corporations began at 8m at 2,468 centres and will continue till 4pm without any break.
