Doctors take fresh blood sample of Dhaka attackers

A team of Dhaka Medical College Hospital doctors are at Combined Military Hospital to collect blood sample of the Dhaka attackers.

Doctors today collected fresh blood samples of Dhaka attackers to ascertain if they took any stimulant or drug before carrying out the July 1 Gulshan café carnage.

A forensics team of Dhaka Medical College Hospital collected the samples from Dhaka’s Combined Military Hospital, where the bodies are being kept.

“We collected blood and hair samples from six bodies kept there,” Dr Sohel Mahmud, assistant professor of forensic and medicine department at DMCH, told The Daily Star.

This is the second time authorities have collected the blood sample of the assailants following a request of the special Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit.

On July 1, Dhaka witnessed one of the worst terror attacks in its history as gunmen attacked Holey Artisan Bakery, an upscale eatery on Road 79 of Gulshan killing 20 people after a 12-hour long siege.
