Curfew resumes in Rangamati

The local administration imposed the curfew in Rangamati again this afternoon after a nine-hour break.
The curfew resumed at 5:00pm today and will continue till 7:00am tomorrow, a correspondent reports from Rangamati.
The announcement came after the curfew, which was imposed in Rangamati following Bangalee settler-Adivasi clashes yesterday, ended at 8:00am today.
Meanwhile, police picked up 35 people in connection with sporadic clashes that left seven people including a policeman injured in different parts of the district today.
The nightlong curfew was imposed in Rangamati yesterday after violence spread in the hilly district following clashes between Bangalee settlers and Adivasis.
