Culinary war reaches Rajshahi

Rupchanda-Star Lifestyle Super Chef 2014, reached Rajshahi yesterday to hunt for the best culinary experts of the regions.
The contest is being organised by Rupchanda, the flagship brand of Bangladesh Edible Oil Limited, and Star Lifestyle, a weekly publication of The Daily Star.
Among 142 contestants, participated in the contest held in Moonlight Garden, four were selected to compete for the “Super Chef” title and a prize money of Tk 5 lakh.
The four also won Tk 25,000 each.

The regional judges of Rajshahi were Minara Sharmin, a Food and Nutrition teacher of Haji Jamiruddin Shafina Mohila College; Mahmuda Begum, a Political Science teacher of Borendro College; Nusrat Jahan Rumi, catering teacher of Jatiyo Mohila Sangstha; and Nasima Khatun, lecturer of Islamic History of Rajshahi City College.
The panel of judges also included Shawkat Osman, a noted TV personality and food critic, and Afroza Banu, a renowned actor and culinary expert.
