Ctg education officer held for bribery

The officials of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested the education officer of Lohagara upazila in Chittagong today with Tk 20,000 bribe money.

A team of the anti-graft watchdog arrested Miraj Uddin when he was taking Tk 20,000 in bribe from a client at his office around noon, said Abdul Aziz Bhuiyan, ACC director of Chittagong division who led the drive.

The ACC team conducted the drive at his office on secret information that the education official was taking the money from one, Md Zahed, assuring him of giving a job for the post of peon at a primary school, reports our Chittagong correspondent quoting the ACC director.

A process to file a case in this connection was underway till filing of this report this afternoon.
