Robbery case: Accused flees from Dhaka Court premises

An accused of a robbery case fled from the premises of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Dhaka today.

"Md Harun alias Harun-Or-Rashid alias Sumon, an accused in a robbery case, fled the scene around 10:30am when he was being taken to the lockup of Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Dhaka from a prison van," Court Inspector Mesba Uddin Ahmed told The Daily Star.

Harun was brought to the court to appear in a robbery case filed with Keraniganj Police Station, he said.

A case was also filed with Kotwali Police Station against the accused Harun in this regard, Mesba added.

Harun is the accused of five cases filed with Keraniganj and Ramna police stations for the charges of theft, robbery and attempt to murder, court sources said.
