Former Officer-in-Charge of Teknaf Police Station Pradeep Kumar Das and former Sub-Inspector of Baharchhara Police Investigation Centre Nandadulal Rakhshit, the two accused in Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan murder case, have applied for bail at a Cox's Bazar court.

Taking the plea into cognizance, the court fixed June 27 for the hearing of their bail, reports our correspondent quoting Faridul Alam, public prosecutor of Cox's Bazar District and Session Court.

Judge Md Ismail Hossain fixed the date this noon, said the PP.

Pradeep is the second accused of the murder case while SI Nandadulal is the third accused of the case.

PP Faridul Alam said, the accused---former OC Pradeep and SI Nandadul---have applied for their bail today through their lawyer.

Plaintiff lawyer Rana Dasgupta said they have applied for the bail on June 10 but the date of the hearing could not take place due to the lack of document presentation before the court.

Today, the court took the plea into cognizance and fixed date for the hearing of their bail petition.

On July 31, Maj (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan was shot dead in police firing at a check-post in Cox's Bazar's Teknaf upazila.

Later, on August 5, Sinha's elder sister filed a murder case accusing OC Pradeep, SI Nandadul and seven others with Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate Court in connection with the murder.
