Lawyer and two ‘drug traders’ arrested with heroin in Kurigram

Police have arrested three people, including a lawyer, on charge of possessing heroin in Kurigram.

Alamgir Hossain, a lawyer at Kurigram Judge Court, and two "drug traders" -- Asaduzzaman Sabuj and Mostaq Hossain -- were arrested from the main gate of Kurigram General Hospital around 1:00 am today, our Lalmonirhat correspondent reports.

Alamgir is a resident of Kurigram municipality area, Asaduzzaman is from Kurigram Sadar, and Mostaq from Bhurungamari upazila.

According to police, the three were arrested while "dealing with the drugs". Police who were in the area searched them and found 10 gms of heroin on them, they said.

Confirming the incident, Sub-inspector (SI) Nazmus Shakib Sajib, also in charge of Kurigram Sadar police Outpost, said, "We are interrogating them, and a case has already been filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act.
