JMB in-charge Reza placed on 7-day remand

A Dhaka court today placed Rezaul Haque alias Reza, in-charge of the banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), on a seven-day remand in connection with a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Moinul Islam passed the order after Investigation Officer SM Raisul Islam, also an inspector of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of police, produced Reza before the court with a ten-day remand prayer in the case filed with Vatara Police Station in November last year, court sources said.

A CTTC team arrested Reza from the capital's Badda area on April 10.

Reza was the in-charge of JMB's activities in Bangladesh, and also the chief of recruitment and financial wing of the outfit.
