Dhaka Judge’s Court lawyer arrested over forging anticipatory bail order

Frauds involved in making fake orders must be brought to book, HC bench observes

A lawyer of Dhaka Judge's Court, Raju Ahmed Rajib, was arrested yesterday for allegedly forging anticipatory bail order in a violence and narcotics case filed in Bogura.

The state provided the information to the HC bench of Justice Md Abu Zafor Siddique and Justice KM Hafizul Alam during hearing a suo muto (voluntary) rule.

"Frauds are making fake verdicts and orders with seals. But why are they not being nabbed? They must be brought to the book of law," the bench said.

Deputy Attorney General Samira Tarannum Rabeya told The Daily Star last night that a resident from Bogura requested a senior Supreme Court lawyer in February this year to inquire whether the HC bench on February 14 had passed any order granting anticipatory bail to 30 accused in the violence and narcotics case of Bogura.
