Crude bombs exploded near journo’s house in Patuakhali

Miscreants detonated a crude bomb in front of the house of Barguna Press Club General Secretary Sohel Parvez in Barguna town tonight.

Sohel Parvez, also the district correspondent of private TV channel NTV and Bangla Daily Kalerkantha, was not at home at the time, said KM Tariqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Barguna Police Station.

The bomb exploded at the main gate of the house in College Road area around 8:30pm, said the OC.

No injuries were reported.

"We are looking into matter," the police official told our Patuakhali correspondent.

Locals said it might have been done to create panic ahead of the Barguna Municipality elections slated for January 30.
