CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver shot dead in Teknaf

A CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver was shot dead and another man sustained bullet wounds at Hnila union in Cox's Bazar's Teknaf upazila last night.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Hossain (30), son of Bacha Miah, reports our Cox's Bazar correspondent quoting Rashed Mahmud Ali, chairman of Hnila union.

Rashed Mahmud told reporters that he had gone to visit the spot after the incident which took place around 8:00pm on Thursday.

After a quarrel between two sides, one of the sides had started firing guns and that resulted in the death of Hossain.

Another bullet-hit victim, Ayaz Uddin, is undergoing treatment at Cox's Bazar Zila Hospital.

Locals had taken them to Cox's Bazar Zila Hospital where the duty doctor pronounced Hossain dead.

On information, police rushed to the spot, said Md Hafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station, adding that they are trying to nab the criminals involved in the incident.
