Child murdered for ransom in Narayanganj

Police today recovered the decomposed body of a child from a pond near Madbar Bazar in Jalkuri Taltola area of Narayanganj's Siddhirganj.

The deceased was identified as Riyad (7), son of Raju, a mason worker from Siddhirganj.

After the child went missing, his father filed a case against the child's uncle Sujon, who was arrested.

During interrogation, he confessed that he had killed the child for ransom money and hid the dead body in a pond.

According to his information police recovered the body this morning.  

The child had been missing since April 24.

Narayanganj Additional Superintendent of Police Md Mehedi Imran Siddiqui said, "An investigation is underway to find out whether anyone else was involved in the murder."
