Bashundhara Group MD’s wife left Dhaka on cargo flight on Monday: AVSEC official

The wife of Bashundhara Group Managing Director (MD) Sayem Sobhan Anvir left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a cargo flight on Monday afternoon.

After going through the departure documents kept at the VIP gate, a top official of Aviation Security (AVSEC) of the airport told The Daily Star that a passenger recorded as "the wife of Sayem Sobhan" left Dhaka airport at 4:30pm on a cargo flight named VPC.

But the official could not say what the destination of the cargo flight was.

The security official also said Sayem tried to leave the country on the same day but could not.

The official could not give details about how Sayem tried to leave the country and what caused him to fail.
