8 idols vandalised at Kurigram temple

Unidentified miscreants vandalised eight idols at a temple in Sadar upazila of Kurigram early yesterday.

Kamali Rani Das, a priest at Sri Sri Shitlipat temple at Khanpara village, said she found the eight idols damaged at the temple when she went there for prayers yesterday morning.

The miscreants also smashed the temple door, our Lalmonirhat correspondent reports, quoting Kamali Rani Das.

On information, Superintendent of Kurigram Police (SP) Syeda Jannat Ara visited the spot.

Khan Mohammad Shahriar, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kurigram Sadar Police Station, said they are working to identify the miscreants who vandalised the temple and idols.
