6 more arrested over mayhem in Brahmanbaria

Six more people have been arrested in the last 24 hours for their alleged involvement in the violence and arson attacks in different places of Brahmanbaria unleashed by the activists of Hefajat-e-Islam from March 26 to March 28, said police.

Law enforcers picked the six from different parts of the district in connection with the attacks on government and non-government establishments and homesteads, said a Special Branch of Police press release.

The identity of the arrestees could not be known immediately.

With the latest arrests, the number of people brought to custody stood at 454 and a total of 57 cases have so far been filed in connection with the violence.
