The arrestees are Somitra Goldar, his brother Amit Goldar and Laxmikandar Goldar, Krishnapad Bishwas and Krishna Bishwas of Dogachhi village in the upazila, said Mohammad Ashraf Hossain, superintendent of Jashore police in a press briefing.

A police team arrested them from Dogachhi village of Bagherpara upazila early today, our Benapole correspondent reports, quoting the SP.

During primary interrogation, the arrestees confessed to killing Shimul, said the police official.

The arrestees were sent to jail by a district court this evening, added the SP.

Police recovered the body of Shimul from the canal in Raghurampur area of Bagherpara upazila on Sunday. Later, the victim's father Mukul Bishwas filed a case with Bagherpara Police Station.
