Three Bangladeshi men have reportedly been detained by police in Malaysia recently for possessing forged passports.

They were detained following a raid at a house in Taman Ampang Utama, Malaysia's English-language newspaper The Star reported today.

The report, however, did not mention the names and details of the detainees.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the suspects, aged between 36 and 46, were arrested at about 10:40pm on Saturday, said the report.

"We also seized various equipment believed to be used to produce forged passports, 13 Bangladeshi passports and various fake documents including fake police reports," he said.

"We seized a notebook, three mobile phones as well as a printer and a computer," he told The Star when contacted today.

ACP Mohamad Farouk said the suspects have been remanded until April 24.

"We will investigate further.

"We hope the public will continue to cooperate with the police in supplying information," he said.
