3 Bangladeshi nationals arrested in Delhi robbery case

Indian police have arrested three Bangladeshi nationals in connection with a robbery case in Delhi, a senior police official said today.

The accused -- Mohammad Khairul alias Arman (46), Mohammad Sadiq Sheikh (29) and Montu Molla (30) -- were wanted in a case of robbery in Ghaziabad's Kavi Nagar and 18 other cases of theft in Delhi, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shibesh Singh said.

On February 28, four people entered a house in Kavi Nagar after cutting window grills and then looted all the valuables holding the family at gunpoint.

Later, police received information about the movement of Khairul and his gang in Lado Sarai area in Delhi, after which a trap was laid and the accused were arrested on Friday, Shibesh Singh said.

House-breaking tools, gold and silver jewellery, and expensive wrist watches were recovered from their possession, he said.

The trio used to flee to Bangladesh after committing the crime, and later return to India, the police official told our New Delhi correspondent.
