Youth drowns, 2 others missing while taking flood selfie in Jamalpur

A schoolboy drowned in flood water and two others went missing while two of them were taking selfie in Melandah upazila of Jamalpur today.

Zillur, a class X student of Umir Uddin High School in the village, drowned and his classmate Sajib went missing while they were taking selfie in Bhaluka village under Kulia union around noon, Mazharul Karim, officer-in-charge of Melandah Police Station, told our Jamalpur correspondent.

Meanwhile, one Lal Miah, 36, of Tetulia village also went missing as he jumped into the water to rescue the duo, the police official said.

The body of Zillur was recovered but Lal Miah and Sajib were washed away in the swirling current of water, the OC said.

They were missing till the filing of this report around 8:21pm.
