A writ petition was filed with the High Court today seeking necessary orders on the authorities concerned to stop strike enforced by doctors and nurses at hospitals.

Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh submitted the petition praying to the HC to take steps against those responsible for enforcing the strike.

The petitioner requested the court to direct the director general of Directorate of Health Services to form a three-member committee to monitor twice in a week whether the doctors and nurses enforced any strike.

In the petition, the petitioner said that doctors and nurses of different hospitals enforce strike, causing suffering to the patients.

The petitioner’s council, Manzill Murshid, told The Daily Star that the High Court may hold hearing on the petition tomorrow.
