Worker killed in Mymensingh building collapse

A worker was killed and eight others were injured when an under-construction building collapsed in Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh today.

The deceased was identified as Jahan Ali, 25, son of Abdul Khaleque of Durgapur upazila of Netrakona.

The incident took place while the roof of a 500-seat auditorium of Mymensingh Zila Parishad broke down around 10:30am, injuring nine workers including Jahan, our local correspondent reports quoting Abdul Ahad Khan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Gafargaon Police Station.

The injured were rushed to Gafargaon Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared Jahan Ali dead.

The body was sent it to Mymensingh Medical College morgue for autopsy.
