Woman gives birth to quadruplets

A woman gave birth to two boys and two girls at her residence in Chorerbondo area under Chhatak municipality of Sunamganj yesterday.

She is Ruksana Begum, 25, wife of day labourer Sadik Miah of the area.

Ruksana felt labour pain early in the morning and gave birth to the babies around 10:00am, said her husband Sadik.

Later, she was sent to the upazila health complex with the newborns, said Dr Abu Salehin Khan of the hospital.

They referred the mother and her babies to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for better treatment, he said.

Of the babies, three are in good health while one is facing breathing difficulties, said the doctor.
