The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal has found evidence against 11 persons from Mymensingh over their alleged involvement in crimes during the Liberation War in 1971.

The crimes include looting, arson, abduction, confinement, torture of nine people and killing of four.

The investigation agency coordinator, Abdul Hannan Khan, and its co-coordinator Sanaul Huq revealed the information at a press conference at its Dhanmondi office.

Among the 11, five are now in jail. They are Khalilur Rahman Mir alias Khalilur Rahman, 62, Mohammad Samsuzzaman alias Abul Kalam, 65, Mohammad Abdullah, 62, Mohammad Abdul Malek Akand alias Abul Hossain, 68 and Md Rois uddin Azadi alias Akkel Ali, 74.

The agency, however, did not reveal the names of the six other accused as they are yet to seek arrest warrant against them, Hannan Khan said.

They will request the chief prosecutor office to take necessary steps for securing arrest of the six others.

All the accused are originally from areas under Pagla Police station in Mymensingh.
