[Video] Taking cash from people: Steps against filmed govt official in Narayanganj Sunday

Authorities in Narayanganj will take action tomorrow against a government official after his video of taking cash from service seekers went viral.

“We have seen the video on Thursday. Steps will be taken in this regard on Sunday as Friday and Saturday are holidays,” Sabekunnahar, registrar of the district, told our Narayanganj correspondent today.

Esahaq Ali Mondal, acting sub-registrar in Narayanganj's Araihazar, was recently filmed taking a stash of notes from people in his office.

This footage, what appears to be a video shot with a phone camera, went viral on social media and YouTube since Thursday.
