Bodies of Bangladeshi crash victims arrive Tuesday

Bodies of the Bangladeshis identified following the US-Bangla airplane crash in Nepal’s Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) will be brought in the country on Tuesday.

The information was disclosed at a press conference in Bangladesh embassy in Nepal today, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

The briefing was addressed by Mashfee Binte Shams, Bangladesh high commissioner to Nepal, Sohel Ahmed, associate professor of forensic department of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, and Additional CID Superintendent Abdus Salam.

The autopsy of the victims end today and the verification process will commence from tomorrow, the daily reported. The bodies which are identifiable in naked eye will be sent to Bangladesh on Tuesday under government initiative, they said.

The bodies which are unrecognisable, will be identified through DNA profiling, Sohel Ahmed said. The samples of teeth, hair, nail or dress have been collected from the charred bodies.

Meanwhile, Bodies of eight Bangladeshi crash victims have been identified so far, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal said today.
