Two missing as trawler, launch collide

Two men went missing after a launch and a trawler collided head-on in the Bishkhali river in Mashabunia area of Kathalia in the district early yesterday.

The victims are trawler driver Md Hasan, 40, of Lalmohon upazila in Bhola, and his assistant Md Pannu, 35, of Rajapur in Jhalakathi.

The accident took place due to dense fog, said MR Shakhawat Anwar Islam, officer-in-charge of Kathalia Police Station.

Fire fighters were continuing rescue operation as of filing of this report around 4:00pm yesterday, said the OC.
