A baby girl born with two heads is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for her breathing difficulties.

The two-day-old-baby born with the physical deformity of having two heads but with one body is now being treated in the ICU, said Brig Gen Mizanur Rahman, an doctor of the DMCH.

The baby was born by Cesarean section in Standard Hospital of Total Health Care in Brahmanbaria district around 6:30pm on Wednesday.

It is very surprising that the second head did not come up in the ultrasonography, said Helal Mia, ward master of the hospital.

Jaman Mia, father of the baby, said they were referred to transfer to DMCH for the baby’s better treatment.

“The concerned doctors have examined the baby, and the condition does not seem well, said Dr Mizanur, adding “a medical board will be formed in two days to decide about the possible surgery”.
