Transgender found dead in Bagerhat

The body of a hijra (transgender) was recovered by police from Nobbairasi bus stand in Morrelganj upazila of the district yesterday.

The deceased was Sonia Akter, 26, of Kaliya village in Demma union under Sadar upazila.

 Officer-in-Charge of Morrelganj Police Station Md Rashedul Alam said the body was sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

An unnatural death case has been filed with the police station in this connection, he added.
