1 killed, 2 injured in transformer blast in Keraniganj

A 25-year-old man was killed and two other suffered burn injuries in a transformer blast at Bangshal in Chunkutia area of Keraniganj last night.

The deceased was identified as Babu of the upazila and an employee of Janani Courier Service.

While loading products a transformer of 'Janani Courier Service' suddenly caught on fire around 11:30pm. The fire soon spread, leaving Babu dead on the spot and two others injured, said Mahfus Riben, officer of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Later, the other two injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
