Train kills Krishak League man

A local Krishak League leader was killed when he was hit by a speeding train at Naoapara in Abhoynagar upazila of Jessore district on Monday. The deceased was identified as Atiar Rahman Molla, 50, executive member of the upazila unit of Krishak League, and son of Abul Hossain of Guakhola village in the upazila. Nasir Uddin, officer-in-charge of Abhoynagar Police Station, said a Jessore-bound train hit Atiar, leaving him critically injured around 8:00pm when he was crossing the rail tracks. He was rushed to the upazila health complex where on-duty doctors declared him dead, said the OC.
