Train service thru Kushtia resumes after 5hrs

Rail communication of Goalando in Rajbari with Rajshahi and Khulna was restored five hours after a train derailed in Mirpur upazila of Kushtia today. 

The train service resumed around 3:00pm after a relief train from Pakshey in Pabna’s Ishwardi upazila rushed at Poradaha Railway Junction and salvaged the derailed bogie, reports our Kushtia correspondent.

The compartment of the Modhumoti express veered off the tracks at the junction around 10:00am, Abdul Alim, stationmaster of Poradaha Railway Junction, told the correspondent.

The train was heading for Goalondo from Rajshahi.
