Tongi factory fire: Police finds owner’s negligence
Police today claimed to have found negligence of the authorities for the devastating fire at Tampaco Foils Limited in Tongi BSCIC industrial area of Gazipur in which at least 34 people were killed.
“We have found the factory owner negligent and are trying to contact with him to talk in this regard but failed,” Harun-Ur-Rashid, superintendent of police in Gazipur, told reports at his office today.
The police official also said that the factory owner cannot avoid the responsibility, reports our Gazipur correspondent.
A case has also been lodged with Tongi Police Station against the factory owner in this connection, the SP said.

On September 11, Abdul Kader, the father of Jewel, one of the deceased factory workers, filed the case against the Tampaco factory owner and seven others.
