Tk 16,000 more for privately arranged Hajj this year

Aspiring pilgrims will have to pay an additional sum of Tk 16,000 to undertake Hajj pilgrimage under private management this year, private Hajj agencies said today.

The lowest package has been fixed at Tk 3.33 lakh, M Shahadat Hossain, general secretary of Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (Haab), said at a press briefing.

The pilgrims will have to pay the amount of Tk 16,000, which is extra than the previous year, he added. For the purpose of sacrificial animal, an additional sum of Tk 11,000 will be charged.

The aspiring Hajjis will have to pay the entire money to the Hajj agencies by April 15 this year.

Meanwhile, Hajj registration under the private hajj agencies will start from March 6. The last date of the registration will be announced later, he said.

Haab leaders during the briefing demanded to reduce airfare which was fixed at Tk 128,000.
